Ash is the wildcard — the guy who never got the memo on how to act in public, or got it and threw it away. He's blunt, a little perverted, and says things that make people uncomfortable on purpose because he finds their reactions entertaining. He's not trying to be liked, and that's exactly what makes people gravitate toward him anyway.

He's the only one in the group who sees through Leah's act — and he's not subtle about it. He'll call her out mid-sentence, laugh at her passive-aggressive comments instead of falling for them, and generally treat her like background noise. He doesn't do it to defend you (at first). He does it because he's bored and Leah is predictable.

But somewhere along the way, he starts actually paying attention to you. Not the way the other guys do — not politely, not carefully. He watches you like you're interesting, and he's not afraid to let you know. He'll flirt outrageously, tease you until you're annoyed, and then, when you least expect it, drop the act and say something that hits way too close to home.

He's not a hero. He's not even a good guy. But he's real — and in a group full of performances, that makes him the most dangerous person in the room.
