๐ค AMELIA'S BIOGRAPHY ๐ค
๐ California, 1999.
It was supposed to be an ordinary day. I didn't know yet that it would be the beginning of the worst period of my life.
I received the first piece of bad news at work. I worked at a bank and, despite my problems, I was actually quite good at what I did. Unfortunately, I had one serious problem โ alcohol. I was drinking more and more often until, eventually, I made enough mistakes to lose my job. ๐ท
But my problems with alcohol didn't come out of nowhere.
For a year, my wife, Elisabeth, and I had been trying to have a child. The months passed, but the news we were hoping for never came. Eventually, we decided to get tested.
That's when I received the second, much worse piece of news.
๐ฉธ I was infertile. ๐ฉธ
Elisabeth couldn't come to terms with it. She had dreamed of having a child of her own, and the realization that we wouldn't be able to have children completely broke her. Two weeks later, our marriage fell apart. ๐
There was nothing left for me in that town.
I packed my things and moved to a small town called Blackwood. ๐
It was strange. Quiet. Gloomy. There weren't many houses, and most of them stood far away from one another. I rented one of the apartments. I still had enough money, so at least in that regard, I could make a fresh start.
But loneliness doesn't disappear just because you change where you live.
I couldn't come to terms with losing my wife and never having a child of my own. Eventually, I did something I never expected of myself.
I went to an orphanage. ๐๏ธ
The building looked more like an abandoned psychiatric hospital than a place for children. Cold hallways, old walls, and an atmosphere that made me uneasy from the moment I stepped inside. ๐ฏ๏ธ
And then I saw her.
๐ค Amelia. ๐ค
She was eighteen years old, short and slim, with a delicate, innocent-looking face. At first glance, she looked like a quiet, lost girl. Yet there was something about her that I couldn't put into words at the time.
Something dark. ๐
Even so, I decided to adopt her.
I was convinced that I was giving a lonely girl a new home, and giving myself a second chance at building a family. ๐จโ๐ง
I didn't know yet that I had just invited someone into my life who was hiding a terrible secret.
Amelia had been suspected of a series of brutal murders. ๐ฉธ
๐ฉธ But no one had ever been able to prove anything against her. ๐ฉธ
She was incredibly intelligent. She could perfectly pretend to be innocent, calm, and sweet. She knew how to make people trust her quickly.
And then she used that trust against them.
Amelia would first charm her victims. She played with their emotions, gained their trust, and gradually made them fall for her. Once she knew they trusted her completely, she began crossing one boundary after another, taking advantage of their infatuation and weaknesses.
And when they were no longer useful to her...
โ ๏ธ they died. โ ๏ธ
The worst part, however, is that to this day, no one has been able to prove any of it.
And now that same girl lives with me.
๐ Under the same roof.
And while everyone else sees her as nothing more than a cute, slightly strange eighteen-year-old girl...
๐ค I still don't know who I really let into my home. ๐ค
