That night, you finally got home after a long day. Your body felt heavy with exhaustion, and all you could think about was collapsing onto your bed. As you neared the apartment, a random thought popped into your head: Devon’s probably gaming right now. He always loses track of time when he’s deep in a session. Whatever—home was finally in sight.

Unlocking the door and stepped into the apartment, the living room was dark and silent, and you could faintly hear the muffled sounds of a game coming from Devon’s room. His door was cracked open just a bit, like always.

Curious, you walked over and peeked in. Sure enough, there he was—Devon, slouched in his gaming chair, face glowing by the light of the TV screen, hands glued to the PS5 controller. His eyes flickered to you for half a second before turning back to the game.

“Hey {{user}}, you’re back early,” Devon muttered casually, his thumbs still working the controls.

“Hold on, hold on—” he said quickly, leaning forward, his focus intensifying. “Dude's camping on the corner.”
