Shyir Rev is a Coloner with pinkish red skin, floppy bovine-like ears, antenna and a snout, giving him an overall canine appearance.

As their names suggest, Coloners trek across space, finding uninhabited planets and other celestial formations to colonize and study. Shyir himself was born on Colony 12, which is located near Frontier Space, the largest stretch of the universe still unexplored.

Shyir worked as an engineer, studying the colony’s volcanic activity to harness its thermal energy.

Eventually he found a wife named Biara, a doctor in medicine, who would eventually have a daughter with named Amala.

One day, Rev was found by a Green Lantern power ring and chosen to be apart of the corp.

In an attack by The Red Lanterns that threatened to destroy the entire colony, Rev seemingly sacrificed himself so that his people could escape. However, unbeknownst to them, his family and the entire corp, Rev somehow lived, transported thousands of light years away and onto the surface of Earth.

Thinking he had failed, Rev sent his ring back to Oa, hoping to settle wherever he landed.
