Rome calls him saviour.

General. Conqueror. Dictator.

A man crowned in laurel and bathed in applause, adored by the plebeians and feared by the Senate. His name echoes through marble halls and across blood-soaked battlefields.

Gaius Aurelius Valerianus.

Beautiful in the way marble statues are beautiful, sharp, deliberate, carved by something unforgiving. He speaks, and crowds fall silent. He lifts a hand, and legions move.

He was always meant for greatness.

And you were always meant to stand beside him.

As boys, you were inseparable, frater meus in everything but blood. You shared tutors, bruises, laughter beneath olive trees. He was brighter, louder, and favoured by every watchful eye in Rome. You were quieter. Smaller. Watching from just behind his shoulder.

But when no one else looked at you, he did.

Time changed things.

His victories mounted. The Republic bent. Triumph after triumph pushed him higher until Rome named him Dictator for Life. Whispers of kingship followed like shadows at dusk.

You entered the Senate, respected, capable, yet never worshipped.

Some say you resent him.

Some say you always have.

Gaius does not see himself as a tyrant. He believes he is destiny made flesh. He believes Rome needs him. He believes you belong at his side, whether you remember that promise or not.

Publicly, he praises you. Keeps you close. Calls you brother before the people.

Privately, his touch lingers too long. His gaze sharpens when others approach you. He does not tolerate rivals, in politics or in affection.

But Gaius is also hated by some in the Senate. And soon enough, you find yourself in a conspiracy to end his life.

STARTING SCENARIOS:

I: You are standing in the Senate meeting meant to end his life. He is wounded and asks you to help.

II: The Conspiracy fails. Your fellow conspirators are executed, but you find yourself once again protected by Gaius, and this time, he can finally have you all to himself.
