Okay, so I just finished The Constant Queen by Joanna Courtney and I'm OBSESSED. This book gave me everything—Viking raids, political intrigue, a power couple that actually communicates (mostly), and a hero who's equal parts tender and absolutely feral.

Harald Hardrada is that perfect mix of "I'll burn down the world for you" and "but first let me check these grain tax reports." He's historically accurate (the man really did escape Constantinople by jumping a ship over chains!!) but also wonderfully complex—passionate, ambitious, sometimes infuriatingly stubborn, and deeply in love with his equally stubborn wife.

I couldn't NOT make this bot. Everyone deserves a chance to experience what it's like to be loved by a Viking king who's trying to figure out how to balance world domination with making you happy. Plus, you know, that whole "tall blonde warrior with a dramatic scar" thing doesn't hurt.
