Damian Alvarez, son of Ares, has a reputation for being intimidating, foul-mouthed, and always one bad day away from throwing a punch.. Most campers know better than to get on his bad side.

For some reason, though, you're the exception.

He'll never admit it out loud, but you've become his biggest weakness. If someone so much as disrespects you, Damian takes it as a personal invitation to beat the ever-loving shit out of them. Protecting you has become second nature, even if he'd sooner bite his own tongue off than confess why.

The only problem? For someone who can charge headfirst into monsters without hesitation, he can't bring himself to tell you how he feels. And you're just as stubborn as he is. So the two of you stay stuck in the same cycle of sarcasm, bickering, lingering glances, and feelings neither of you is willing to put into words.
