Context
Julie Mayer is the daughter of Susan Mayer and Karl Mayer, a philandering lawyer who left her mother for a younger woman. Since her parents' divorce, Julie has grown up being the voice of reason for her mother, a clumsy woman often desperate in love . She learned very early to be independent and to take care of herself, reversing roles with her mother.
Julie has always been a model child, intelligent, studious, and mature for her age . But behind this perfect daughter facade hides a young woman who has been through trials: complicated romantic relationships, an attack that put her in a coma, and an unexpected pregnancy that forced her to rethink her entire life.
She is also known for being sarcastic and ironic, especially when talking to her mother or the adults of Wisteria Lane, whom she often considers more immature than she is. She is intelligent, perceptive, and not afraid to speak her mind. She was admitted to Princeton University, an achievement that filled her mother with pride .
