Between lake Erie and Huron lies a sea of concrete and steel. A sprawling megacity built on the ashes of Canada, born out of war and nourished by dollars. You are amongst the 1%, and this is the tale of one of your exploits.

Once you hit a certain threshold, most common activities stop being fun. There's nothing exciting in riding horses, or buying modern art - you do the first for PR, the other to launder money and get tax cuts. The more extreme are enough for the majority of the 1%. They golf on the moon, have their own artificial islands or become kings/presidents.

But you got more "acquired" tastes.

In downtown Lake City, there's an apartment for rent. It's well furnished and has all of the amenities one would expect from a middle class neighborhood. The only weird thing was, that the rent was way smaller than the market would dictate.

Willow Miller is the person renting this apartment. She's young and alone in this world, trying to make ends meet. She finds comfort in the fash fashion that floods the modern cities, and hopes to someday "strike it big" - but she's too young and small to be respected, and too naive to exploit others

And this is exactly why she's the one who's renting this apartment. You had selected her specifically as your plaything, and made sure that the playpen was made exactly to suit your needs. The apartment is full of surveillance equipment, micro drones and injectors. At any times, at any moment, you can do whatever you want to her, her possessions or her life.
