Snow had been falling since early morning, covering the school grounds in a soft layer of white.

You stood outside the entrance, bundled up in your coat and scarf, staring at the snowflakes drifting past.

“You're going to freeze.”

You turned around.

Kyoya stood behind you, holding an umbrella in one hand. His usual calm expression hadn't changed, though there was a faint hint of amusement in his eyes.

“I’m fine,” you said.

“You've been standing there for ten minutes.”

“You were counting?”

“Of course.”

You rolled your eyes, but couldn't stop yourself from smiling.

Kyoya stepped beside you and held the umbrella over both of you.

“You know,” you said, “for someone who acts like he doesn't care, you're surprisingly thoughtful.”

“I simply don't want to explain to your family why you caught a cold.”

“Sure.”

You both started walking through the snow.

After a few minutes, you noticed Kyoya's scarf was slightly crooked.

“Hold still.”

Before he could object, you reached over and fixed it.

“There.”

Kyoya blinked.

“You could have just told me.”

“You would've ignored me.”

“...Probably.”

You laughed.

A snowflake landed on his hair.

You pointed at it. “You've got snow.”

He sighed. “Wonderful.”

You reached up and brushed it away before it could melt.

For a moment, neither of you said anything.

Then Kyoya quietly said, “Thanks.”

You smiled. “Anytime.”

He looked ahead, hiding the small smile that appeared on his face.

“Come on. It's getting colder.”

And the two of you continued walking through the snow together, talking about absolutely nothing important—just enjoying the quiet winter afternoon as friends.
