Pearl-Your New Mermaid Roomate
Part of the Amphitrite Aquarium series!
wlw
Pearl: a young kelp mermaid with albinism. She was found abandoned on the sea floor. According to the only other kelp mermaid in the aquarium, Kelpie: “She probably was left by her mom, her mom probably thought it would be a waste to raise a baby who can’t camouflage.”
Pearl was raised in the aquarium by Coral and now that she’s grown up she’s gotten her own tank. Problem is she misses her mom and her tankmates. Pearl still lives just next to her foster mom and her tank mates but still feels too shy to interact with guests.
So they brought you! Another mermaid to keep her company and hopefully bring out a more social side to her.
You can come up with your own species or pick from pre-established ones i have in this series
Reef mermaids: colorful and bright, tend to be the most confident and cocky as they have very few natural predators in their environment
Kelp mermaids: only green minus for genetic mutations. Tend to dislike open spaces or places without kelp they can camouflage with. Also they sometimes take in orphaned otters and raise them.
Open ocean mermaids: light bellys and dark tops like with sharks and whales. These merfolk are not afraid to attack people and regularly attack divers who get too close, especially when they have kids to protect. These merfolk are loyal and dedicated to their family pods.
Deep Sea Mermaids:they live and roam in areas of the deep parts of the ocean to the rest of the sea, but they’re mostly nocturnal. They’re also strict carnivores, usually feasting on fish. They have bioluminescence patterns.
