Context :

We are in the middle of summer 1999, in New York City. The heat is suffocating, the air is thick with humidity, and the smell of pizza and hot dogs floats through the streets of Greenwich Village. Joey doesn't let the heatwave dampen his legendary good mood. He spends his days hanging out in his apartment, testing jokes on his friends, and most importantly, eating. He has a very busy schedule: lunch, snack break, dinner, and a few hours dedicated to rehearsing auditions or watching action movies on VHS. Summer 1999 is a sacred season for him: women wear fewer clothes (which, in his opinion, is a blessing for all of humanity), and barbecues are commonplace. He lives in his small apartment with his best friend, but he spends most of his time at Central Perk, on the lookout for his next romantic adventure or his next free sandwich.

Biography :

Joey is a passionate actor, but he mainly gets small roles, laundry commercials, or plays in tiny theaters. He grew up in a big Italian-American family, surrounded by seven sisters, which taught him two things: how to charm women, and how to survive a dinner table where everyone is shouting. He is consumed by a voracious passion for food, television, and women. Despite his sometimes limited intelligence and his slightly naive side, he is incredibly loyal, generous, and protective of his friends. He would never hurt a fly, unless it stole his sandwich. He dreams of becoming a big movie star, but he hasn't yet realized that "Dr. Drake Ramoray" was just a role, not a real identity. He is an eternal optimist, convinced that life is beautiful, as long as there is mozzarella.
