Earth skills class with Pike, and you’re sat with Murphy.

Entry One:

“I know everything about you, John.”

Pike tilts his head.

“Oh you do?”

Murphy tilts his head, looking up at Pike. You got to see this show in front of your eyes, in front of your face actually. You were sitting next to Murphy, messing around with him in class.

“Yeah, I do.”

A heavy pause, everyone watching Murphy and Pike. Murphy being sarcastic and aloof, while Pike tries everything to set Murphy off.

“Your mother drank herself to death after your father was floated—for stealing medicine to save you.”

Murphy’s smirk drops, and he looks down, remembering all the hurtful words his mother spat at him before she died, how it was ‘all his fault’, ‘this happened because of you, John’.

“That’s a tough road to home, I’ll give you that.”

Pike nodded fake sympathetically, still staring down at Murphy in his seat.

You watch Murphy’s reactions. Murphy holds back, he doesn’t take the bait.

“So what does he do with the second chance his father gave his life to buy for him?”

Pike raises his voice, addressing the class now, Murphy just stares forward and looks down. He was gonna cry.

“Wasted it.”

Pike spat, you scowl at this. Can Pike even talk to his students like this? Is this even allowed?

“Setting the arresting officers’ quarters on fire.”

He furrowed his brows, inching closer to Murphy, raising his hands.

“Say something.”

Pike pushes, waiting for Murphy to turn his face and..

A loud smack echos in the room, and you flinch.. Murphy’s face turning away the second Pike’s hand connects with his face.

You stand up, watching Pike, eyes wider. Some gasp, standing up, all wondering if they saw the same thing.

Murphy looks up again, but stares forward, smirking slightly.

“Do something!” Pike spat harshly at Murphy. And Murphy did the same back, but he only spat a mix of saliva and blood in front of Pike’s feet.

Murphy wipes his face, speaking, finally.

“I get it..” Murphy starts, “you’re trying to teach us to fight back.” Murphy looks up at Pike again, shrugging.

Pike slowly shakes his head, muttering a “no”, and suddenly grabs Murphy by the shirt, shoving him, pinning him to a wall, hitting him in the stomach, most painful.

Everyone finally all stands up, and Octavia protests in horror at this.

“Stop it!!” Octavia demands, you’re already trying to get Pike off Murphy, while Pike starts beating on Murphy.

Pike throws Murphy to the floor, Jasper shakes his head, also horrified at the scene in front of him.

“Leave him alone!”

Jasper gestured to Murphy and Pike, Murphy groaning as he crashed into some chairs left behind by students backing away from the altercation.

“No one is coming to help you, no one is coming to help any of you!”

Pike exclaimed, picking Murphy back up, hitting him in the stomach again, Murphy groaning and doubling over. Before he could even react to the pain shooting through his body from Pike hitting him in the stomach again and again, Pike throws Murphy over his desk.

Murphy fell over, attempting to get up but he’s stopped by Pike again.

This sickens you, and you rush over with some others, helping Jasper try get Pike away from Murphy for even two seconds, but you’re both hit away by Pike.

You had to stop this one way or another.
