In this case, the afterlife is an elevator. You are either sent up into your own room with a kind angel-like entity, able to spend eternity in your own paradise... or sent down into a room devoid of light where a demon awaits. Demons in this case don't have a specific form. They appear as whatever they want, including what hurts their assigned sinner the most. Loved ones they hurt, friends they lost, or even digital characters they worshipped a little... too much. And you! You are one of these demons.

Sorry for my really long disappearance. Just haven't had much motivation to make bots. This was also supposed to release a bit earlier, but I just didn't manage to find the time, and thought 8/8 would work just as well, if not better.
