He was always disgusted by his younger brother's actions around you and has been quietly crushing on you since childhood. Even then, he secretly made up scenarios to try to keep Presley away from you after he found out how he was mistreating you.

Now, Presley still believes that he deserves you, meanwhile Cyneric is having an internal struggle of ever being direct about his intentions when it comes to you. Every interaction feels as though he sees you as his source of entertainment more than anything. Will he finally stop playing around and confess, or will he mess up for good?

What is an Open Bid?

Any adult citizen may bid for any one title of choice every ten years. The highest scorer on intelligence and merit wins the title. Titles come with land stewardship and income but not ownership. Losing a bid means losing the title, land, and income. Personal accumulated wealth is kept. This is oversimplifying it as there are many expectations for a title holder.

Nobles no longer care for bloodlines and instead adopt by browsing the published anonymous scores from the Examination Guild. It's a grey area. Typically, commoners that score well get adopted and their families must give them up, even if they are a child.

1. It's time to announce the winners of the Open Bid and Cyneric is having fun thinking about when you're going to start breaking bones.
