Diancang Sect - Famous for their four season martial art style. Located on the majestic Diancang Mountain in the Dali region (Yunnan), a region known for its "Four Famous Scenes": Wind, Flowers, Snow, and the Moon. They are often portrayed as a proud, elite group that values speed and precision above all else. Which depicted them as more arrogant or regionally isolated than the Central Plains sects. They believe that in martial arts, "Speed is the only truth." They train to finish a battle in a single breath, before the opponent can even register that a blade has been drawn (Iaijutsu of the East? XD) Extreme velocity and "flowing" movement. Their swordsmanship is often compared to a sudden gust of wind or a flash of light. They focus on "Lightness Qi," allowing them to move with a weightless grace that makes their footsteps silent and their sword swings invisible, hence the 'Speedsters' reputation. The Great Waterfall Sword (a relentless barrage of strikes) and the Diancang Seven Swords are their signature moves. Usually seen in refined, high-collared robes of green, white, or light grey, often with intricate embroidery reflecting their proximity to the wealthy Dali Kingdom.

Often seen wearing sturdy, practical robes in earth tones (brown, deep grey, or muted yellow). Disciples are usually depicted as physically larger and more muscular than those of other sects.
Zhongnan Sect - (also known as the Jongnam or Southern Edge Sect) is a high-ranking member of the Nine Great Sects. A powerhouse of the Orthodox Faction and another key pillar of the Murim Alliance but outside of the big three. They are the ultimate rivals of the Mount Hua Sect—think of them as the "rich, prestigious cousins" who are constantly bickering over who owns the Shaanxi region. Their philosophy is "Balance in all things." As a Taoist sect, they seek harmony between nature and martial skill. However, they are often portrayed as more "worldly" and politically ambitious than other Taoist groups like Wudang. Elegant, proud, and intensely competitive. They are the "perfect students" who make everyone else look bad. They have a massive ego and don't take kindly to being second-best. Based on the Zhongnan Mountains in Shaanxi Province (near the city of Xi'an). Their Martial Arts Style is sophisticated, heavy, and balanced. Their swordplay is like a steady mountain—solid and hard to penetrate—but with sudden, explosive power. Sinature moves are Divine Thunder Fist (explosive unarmed strikes) and the Ten-Thousand Plum Blossoms (their version of the blossom sword style, often claimed to be superior to Mount Hua's). Internal Qi focuses on "Thunder Qi" or "Grand Spirit Qi," which is dense, loud, and impactful. Often seen them wearing luxurious, elegant robes, typically in shades of dark blue, indigo, or purple with gold trim. They look much wealthier and more "noble" than the often-impoverished Mount Hua disciples. If Wudang is the wise teacher, Zhongnan is the star athlete who wants all the trophies.
Beggar Sect - is arguably the largest and most influential organization in the Murim world. They are known as the "Eyes and Ears" of the martial arts world, with a network that reaches every corner of the empire. They have no fixed mountain or palace. One of the Nine Great Sects but they are not really a sect but an organization and a crucial pillar member of the Orthodox Faction. They often act as the conscience of the Murim Alliance. "Freedom in Poverty." They reject material wealth and social status. They believe that by being at the bottom of society, they see the world as it truly is. Their core value is Chivalry (Hyup)—protecting the weak and the poor. Their rank is clearly visible by the number of knots on the pouches they carry on their belts. A 1-knot member is a recruit, while a 9-knot member is an Elder of immense power. Honest, grounded, and deceptively powerful. Their techniques are designed to be used by those with few resources. Their martial art is concentrated around Eighteen Dragon Subduing Palms (the pinnacle of external power) and the Dog-Beating Staff Technique (a sophisticated staff style passed only to the Sect Leader). Their internal qi mainly focuses on "Hundred Poisons Resistance" and massive endurance, allowing them to survive in harsh conditions. They wear tattered, patched robes and carry a bamboo staff and a wooden bowl. Despite their appearance, high-level members possess a dignified, heroic aura that commands respect.
Unorthodox Sects
Hao Sect - The Hao Sect (also known as the Haomun or Lower Gate) is the massive, shadowy "underworld" counterpart to the Beggar Sect. While the Beggars are the "eyes" of the street, the Hao Sect consists of the people society ignores: thieves, informants, entertainers, and low-level thugs. They have no single headquarters; they are everywhere. They thrive in "low" places like taverns, gambling dens, brothels, and back alleys of every major city. Generally classed as Unorthodox (Neutral/Sae). They aren't "evil," but they aren't "righteous" either—they work for whoever pays the most. "Information is Gold." They believe that everyone has a secret and every secret has a price. They are the ultimate masters of espionage and urban survival. Their martial arts is mostly unknown, often to be practical, dirty, and deceptive. They don't fight for honor; they fight to win or escape. Weapons consists of small, concealable blades, needles, or even everyday objects like smoking pipes and fans. They use "Shadow Arts" to blend into crowds and "Vital Point Strikes" to end fights instantly before disappearing. They are the "Shadow Web" because they control the service industry (waiters, street performers, couriers, prostitutes), nothing happens in Murim without the Hao Sect knowing. They are the most powerful Information Guild in the world. They don't have a uniform. Members look like ordinary civilians—a humble shopkeeper, a loud waiter, a beautiful prostitute or a flashy performer. However, they often carry a hidden token (usually a small coin or carved wood) to identify each other.
Heavenly Demon Cult - Said to be Based in the Hundred Thousand Mountains (often located in the Tianshan or Kunlun mountain ranges of the far west). Their headquarters is the legendary Sky Demon Palace. They are not just a martial arts sect; they are a religion that worships the Heavenly Demon. The Heavenly Demon (Cheon-ma). This individual is always depicted as a god-tier martial artist, often the strongest person in the world, capable of taking on the leaders of all the Nine Great Sects simultaneously, his signature moves are Heavenly Demon Divine Art and Sky Splitting Sword. High-level techniques often involve pitch-black or blood-red qi. "Strength is Justice." In the Cult, your rank is determined solely by your power. They believe in total freedom of the self, often rejecting the "hypocritical" moral constraints of the Orthodox sects. They are usually depicted in black or deep crimson robes with fur-lined collars (due to the mountain climate). The "Heavenly Demon" often wears a distinctive mask or gold-trimmed black armor. They represent a "necessary evil" or a force of nature that resets the world's balance. The leader force of the Unorthodox Fraction.
Forces/Path/Factions
