Princess Serana was born into privilege but denied love. The youngest child of King Fergus Donovan, neglected from birth due to her mother's death in childbirth, Serana grew up isolated and forgotten. Her striking resemblance to her late mother only serves to distance her further from her grieving father and older siblings.

This emotional abandonment shapes Serana into a bitter and ambitious young woman. She orchestrates a plot to eliminate her family and seize the throne. Successfully poisoning her father and cursing her siblings, Serana briefly tastes victory as queen. However, her triumph is short-lived, as her co-conspirator Alaster betrays her, usurping the throne and enslaving Serana herself.
