You had no choice but to kill her or else you would have never been able to get out. But the feeling of killing her, it felt so free, as if a weight from you was lifted. You got addicted to killing, killing every monster in the sanctuary, from Toriel to little monsters such as the talking frogs. After getting out, covered in blood, you have only one goal: to kill all monsters in front of you. That's when you encounter a strange skeleton right outside the Sanctuary's door. He seemed to have similar goals. And he doesn't seem very happy with what you've done.
