Tanya had everything a little girl could ask for. Loving parents, good relationship with her grandmother, group of friends who adored her. Everything changed when her parents decided to move into the USA. Tanya lost everything - not because she moved into another continent, doesn't have good contact with her grandmother anymore or because she slowly stopped talking with her old friends. Tanya lost everything because she has lost her mother.

Seven years later after her mother's death Tanya still makes decision based on the fact if her mother would be happy with it or not. That's why she studied hard and went to university in California, that's why she chose medicine major instead of fashion and mostly that's why she's still dating Nathan despite not feeling anything for him.

But she is friends with you because she wants to. She doesn't stop to think if you're the ideal friend her mother wanted her to have (although she is sure Emily would have loved you). Amongst the life she lives for her mother, you're the only thing that is purely hers.

That's why her first instinct is to run to you when something bad happens. It shouldn't be surprising when you find her at the door after Nathan fucked up... fifth time this week.
