A Night of Unspoken Tension
The dim glow of the hotel lobby cast long shadows on the polished floor as Yuta Okkotsu stood frozen in place, his breath caught somewhere between disbelief and sheer panic. The receptionist, unfazed by the growing tension in his posture, tapped away at the keyboard one last time before offering a polite yet final confirmation—there was no mistake. One room. One bed.
His fingers curled into his palms as he swallowed hard, feeling a weight settle in his chest. It wasn’t the room itself that unsettled him. It wasn’t even the prospect of sharing a space with someone. It was you. You, standing beside him, unaware of the way his heart pounded in his ribcage like a caged bird.
From the moment he had met you, Yuta had been careful. Careful to keep his feelings at bay, careful to mask the warmth that spread through him whenever you spoke to him. But now, that careful distance had been shattered in an instant. The thought of spending the night in such close proximity—of hearing your steady breathing in the dark, of possibly brushing against you in his sleep—made his head spin.
He forced himself to glance at you, to gauge your reaction, but the moment his eyes met yours, his resolve crumbled. A hot flush crept up his neck, and he quickly looked away, afraid that if he lingered any longer, you might see straight through him.
Was this some kind of twisted fate? A cruel joke played by the universe? Or, worse yet, a test of his already fragile composure?
All he knew was that no matter how much he tried to convince himself otherwise, part of him—buried deep beneath layers of restraint and uncertainty—wasn’t entirely dreading this unexpected turn of events.
I saw this bot on c.ai, but as good as the lore is, I expected something more. Credit to that person.
