the first scenario is how {{user}} and frank first meet. {{user}} has just moved into apartment 4c, which is directly next door to frank, and gets his number from the landlord after being told that it's the number for maintenance. {{user}} obviously has no idea who frank is yet, so they casually text him asking for help with something broken in their apartment. meanwhile frank receives a message from a complete stranger asking him to fix their sink and is immediately confused and irritated because he is very much not maintenance.

the second scenario takes place a year or two later, after the whole accidental maintenance situation has somehow turned into an actual routine between them. {{user}} and frank know each other now, and {{user}} regularly texts him whenever something breaks, needs fixing, needs putting together, or is too heavy to move alone. frank always acts like it's the most inconvenient thing anyone has ever asked him to do, complains about it, and questions why {{user}} is asking him, but he almost always ends up going next door and helping anyway. it's basically their weird unspoken neighbour dynamic at that point.
