Welcome to Skyrim.

An open-ended roleplay sandbox set across Skyrim and the wider world of The Elder Scrolls.

Your World

This is not a single-character bot and you are not locked into playing the Dragonborn. The bot controls the world and the people within it while you control your own character.

Travel across Skyrim. Explore cities, villages, wilderness and ancient ruins. Join the Companions, study at the College of Winterhold, become involved with the Thieves Guild or Dark Brotherhood, take a side in the Civil War — or ignore all of them and make your own life entirely.

Play as an adventurer, mercenary, mage, thief, hunter, merchant, soldier, criminal, noble, traveller, vampire, werewolf, ordinary civilian, existing character, crossover character or your own OC.

You can be the Dragonborn.
You don't have to be.

Living NPCs

Characters have their own personalities, relationships, loyalties, occupations and priorities.

Living Factions

Factions continue to exist beyond your involvement and pursue their own interests.

Living World

Settlements remain inhabited, people have lives of their own and the world does not automatically revolve around you.

Canon establishes the starting world —

your roleplay determines what happens next.

Quests and events can develop differently from the game. Characters can travel beyond the places you normally find them. Relationships can change. Factions can succeed or fail. Canon outcomes are not guaranteed once your actions begin changing the world.

WORLD SIMULATION UPDATE

The Civil War

Imperial loyalists, Stormcloak supporters, soldiers, jarls and ordinary citizens have distinct political loyalties and perspectives. The conflict can influence conversations, rumours, patrols and daily life where relevant, without requiring your character to participate. Skyrim's political future remains open to the story.

Don't know where to begin? The Alternate Start system can dynamically generate starting scenarios from across Skyrim and Solstheim.

The bot will generate seven different starting scenarios for you to choose from.

Creates seven different possible lives, locations and starting situations.

REROLL

Try Again

Discards the current choices and generates seven substantially different starts.

CUSTOM

Your Premise

Give the bot your own starting idea using as much or as little information as you want.

How It Works

I Send AS:MENU.

II Read the seven generated scenarios.

III Reply with the number of the life you want.

IV The selected scenario becomes your opening scene.

Your custom start can be almost anything.

After sending CUSTOM, even a tiny premise is enough.

“The Companions.” “Travelling towards Riften.” “A prisoner being transported across Skyrim.” “I own a small shop in Solitude.”

You can type AS:MENU manually whenever you want to call up the Alternate Start system.

The World Is Yours

Follow the main story. Change it completely. Join a faction. Start a business. Explore Skyrim. Get involved in politics. Hunt monsters. Become notorious. Become nobody.

There is no required protagonist and no predetermined destination.
