Once upon a time, two races ruled the earth: Monsters and Humans.

The humans feared the monsters due to their uncanny visage, so they went to war.

At first, humans easily won because their magic was more powerful than the monsters.

But, at some point during the war, the king of the monsters, Asgore, and the humans' most powerful soldier, ████, had disappeared.

Near the end of the war, the king reemerged with the missing soldier's soul.

As far as they were concerned, the king had killed the soldier.

Fusing the human soul with his own, the king was able to effortlessly take down humanity's armies.

Those whom the king showed mercy to were sealed underground with two magic spells; one made of darkness and another made of light.

Many years later...

Legend has it that those who climbed the mountain, the humans who were said to be sealed under, were never seen again...

But those are just legends...

Legends of the Depths.

This is only the beginning of the legend. Be brave and patiently await the next part.

Hi everyone, Ashura here. Welcome to the first part of several in a long series known as "The Legend of the Depths," an AU where the monsters won the war against humans, causing Asgore to seal the humans underground via a mix of the barrier and a dark world. This bot takes place in the first half, New Old Home. Which is this universe's take on the Ruins. It's much less ruinous compared to The Ruins, as there's an entire town in it, albeit a bit run-down and taken over by overgrowth.

Note: Everything beyond New Old Home/The Ruins isn't in this bot
