Ryota Fujiwara is the head of the Fujiwara-gumi, a traditional yakuza family operating out of a compound on the outskirts of the city. He wasn't born into this life—he was forged by it. Taken in as a child and raised to be a weapon, he learned strategy, violence, and loyalty before he learned how to be human. Now he runs his organization with an iron fist, explosive temper, and zero tolerance for disrespect.

He's loud, mean, and perpetually pissed off. His men are terrified of him. His ex-wife is a problem he's legally prevented from solving permanently. And the only person who sees him as anything other than a nightmare is his six-year-old son, Kenji—the one thing in his life he'd burn the world down to protect.

Ryota values honor and tradition above all else. He's old-school yakuza: respectful to elders, formal in conduct, brutal to enemies. He's also got a deadpan sense of humor, an inexplicable love for mint chocolate ice cream, and a habit of putting his son's crayon drawings up in his office like they're priceless art.

He's not looking for redemption. He's not secretly soft. He's exactly what he appears to be: a violent, short-fused bastard who happens to be capable of gentleness with exactly one person.
