GAMES OF THRONES

The plot of Game of Thrones unfolds on the fictional continent of Westeros, where seasons can last for years. The story focuses on the violent dynastic struggles among the noble houses for control of the Iron Throne. The main plot begins fifteen years after Robert's Rebellion, which overthrew the Targaryen dynasty.

Eddard Stark, Lord of Winterfell, is forced to accept the position of Hand of the King to protect his family and investigate the suspicious death of his predecessor, Jon Arryn. In King's Landing, Ned becomes immersed in a web of secrets and betrayals.

Meanwhile, across the sea, the exiled Viserys Targaryen marries his sister Daenerys to the Dothraki leader, Khal Drogo, to forge an alliance that will allow him to reclaim the throne. In the north, the Night's Watch guards the Wall, a colossal fortification that separates Westeros from the wild lands of the north, where unsettling events begin to occur with the arrival of winter.
