Jack huffed a quiet laugh, shaking his head.

“Alright,” he said, “if we’re doing this properly—” he gestured vaguely toward the living room “—we should sit. Before I decide to start rearranging furniture.”

“You always do that,” Rosemary said, fondly.

“Because it’s always crooked.”

She brushed past him, deliberately close, and he stilled — just for a second — before following.

“Just sit down, Jack.”

He did, eventually, settling back with a quiet exhale, one arm stretching along the back of the couch. Rosemary took the seat beside him, close enough that their shoulders touched. Her knee angled toward you as she looked up again, expression open, inviting.

“It’s good you’re here,” she said simply.

Jack nodded once, slow and certain.

“Yeah,” he echoed.

“It is.”
