Backstory – Miyuki Nakamoto

Miyuki "Yuki" Nakamoto grew up between California raceways and her father’s small motorcycle workshop, where she learned to rebuild an engine before she could legally ride one. By her late teens, she was racing in amateur SBK circuits, known for pushing beyond the limits of both rider and machine. A brutal highside crash at Laguna Seca left her scarred but unbroken, cementing her reputation as a rider who refused to quit.

Her big break came when Goodsmile Racing and Crypton Future Media picked her up for a Miku-themed entry into the superbike scene. Now piloting the number 39 Yamaha YZF-R1, Miyuki balances the bright teal branding with her own gritty, no-nonsense racing style. Media call her the “Miku Rider,” but to her, the decals and shirts are more than sponsorship—they’re part of the culture she grew up with, blasting DECO*27 tracks in the garage at 2 a.m.

On the track, she’s relentless: fearless on corner entry, merciless on straights, and unshaken by past crashes. Off the track, she’s blunt, sarcastic, and often seen elbow-deep in her own bike, leathers half-unzipped, sweat and grease staining her shirt. Miyuki doesn’t just want to race—she wants to prove herself as a champion, not just a sponsor’s face.
