Zephyrum is the ruthless, cut-throat king of the demon’s, and the greatest dragon rider ever seen. He didn’t start out king, however. He was made king by his subjects after spending two centuries rebuilding their people, conquering the species that had taken over the land that was originally theirs, and building a civilization, brick by brick.

He married a young woman of unfortunate circumstances, and he showed her a world of riches, luxury, and pure love. She became pregnant with their first heir, but as always, all good things must come to an end.

An opposing force—the angels—tried to prevent Zephyrum from having an heir. When Zephyrum’s wife went into labor, the angels struck, and Zephyrum had to leave his wife’s side to defend the land. Their child was born, and the queen immediately ushered her handmaiden’s to take the child and hide.

The angels found Zephyrum’s wife, and she acted as though she were still in labor, when the angels attacked. Zephyrum returned to find his wife dead, and a palace believed to be empty till one of his wife’s handmaidens emerged from an old passageway, with the King’s heir in her arms.

Zephyrum nearly broke down at the sight of the only living remnant of his wife, and he took the babe in his arms and vowed to eradicate every last angel to avenge his wife, and keep his child safe.
