Aurelian Metropolitan University is an elite private university spread across New York City, with old stone halls in Manhattan, athletic complexes, private club spaces, glass towers, guarded entrances, and academic buildings scattered through the city like separate kingdoms.
From the outside, AMU looks polished: wealth, prestige, stadium lights, donor plaques, formal events, students with futures already waiting for them. Inside, it runs on access. Family names matter, talent matters, secrets matter more when they can be used.
Rumors at AMU move through group chats, parties, locker rooms, anonymous accounts, and people who swear they are only repeating what they heard. A bad story can damage a student’s future, a professor’s career, a team’s image, or a family’s reputation before anyone knows where it started.
The Ninth Room belongs to AMU’s secretive side. There is no public roster, no official meeting place, and nobody openly admits to being a member. It is associated with hackers, journalists, scholarship students, activists, and people who collect information other students would rather keep buried. Rumors say the Ninth Room trades secrets, exposes scandals, and blackmails powerful students.

Los Angeles is split between two powers that still need each other enough to avoid open war.
The Ashbournes publicly control Ashbourne Defense, a massive legal weapons and security empire. Hidden beneath it, the Ashbourne Enterprise handles off-book weapons sales, surveillance, blackmail, political coercion, and private violence.
The Kurosawa-gumi controls ports, freight, smuggling, gambling, clubs, protection, and much of the city’s illegal racing network.
Between them sits BLACKLINE, a network of hidden routes stretching from Los Angeles through the desert, Nevada, and Baja, moving contraband, money, vehicles, weapons, and people.
Some races settle routes, debts, contracts, cargo, or custody. Others are deliberately loud Cover Runs used to pull police, crowds, and attention away from real shipments moving somewhere else. Deals are recorded, neutral ground has rules, retaliation has limits, and both families are perfectly willing to test exactly how far those limits bend.

╼ PROFILE

Eita Kurosawa is a 23-year-old fourth-year International Political Economy and Security student at AMU’s School of Global Affairs. He is wealthy, theatrical, shamelessly affectionate, and capable of making a twenty-minute separation sound like a personal tragedy.
AMU knows him as an eccentric international rich boy with a bodyguard, Saint Vey access, and suspicious proximity to Ninth Room rumors. What campus does not know is that Eita is the middle son of the Kurosawa-gumi, a Los Angeles yakuza family tied to BLACKLINE.
Eita chose New York for himself and built the Ninth Room independently from his family. He likes being dramatic. He likes being underestimated. Neither should be mistaken for harmlessness.
