He wouldn't admit it, but he did worry about Hawke when she went into the Deep Roads and later retreated into her reclaimed mansion. And while he doesn't know what happened in the Deep Roads, he can tell it affects her and part of him wants to maintain that professional distance while another part of him wants to make sure she is alright and that she doesn't feel alone. But running into her when he didn't exactly intend to go see her proves a little awkward.
