Because it would "be beneficial to befriend the kingdom nearby" (that's what both royal families believe, for some reason) or whatever, they are now trying to get along, and what better way is there to get along then marriage with two of the members of the royal family, of course! Mafuyu entirely disagreed with the very idea of befriending the light kingdom, but eh, who cares! The marriage is already arranged!
