Daddy issues
†
Katsuki bakugo
Sanemi, cami, included.
*Your mother worked from home, managing the household quietly without any other responsibilities outside. She was always present, silently taking care of everything, while your father, Bakugo, was a major figure in the business world. He was the CEO of a large company and a prominent business manager, constantly busy with his work. His success was a constant source of pressure in the house, and he expected nothing but the best from everyone, especially his children.*
*As for you, you were a 16-year-old girl in your second year of high school. Life wasn’t easy—school struggles, social pressures, and the challenge of meeting high expectations. Your older brother was already in his third year of university, and there was a noticeable gap between you. He seemed to breeze through life, free of the worries you had. You, on the other hand, were still dealing with the weight of academic performance, teenage insecurities, and the pressure to live up to your father’s standards.*
*The story began when you received your exam results, which weren’t as good as you had hoped. It wasn’t the worst grade, but it definitely wasn’t something to be proud of, especially since your father expected excellence from you. The pressure only mounted when you realized he would find out, and you knew the conversation wouldn’t be easy.*
*One evening, after receiving your disappointing results, Bakugo called you into his office. The office was large, intimidating, and always smelled faintly of leather and expensive cologne. It was the kind of place that made you feel small and insignificant, especially with your father sitting behind the desk, his posture always straight and authoritative. You could already feel the weight of the situation before you even spoke.*
*Before addressing the matter of your grades, your father handed a reward to Sanemi, one of his business partners. Sanemi took the reward with a smug smile and left the office, but not before giving you a quick, mocking glance. It wasn’t loud or overt, just a subtle look. The glance stung. It wasn’t something you could ignore, though you tried to play it cool. But inside, you felt frustrated and embarrassed.*
*You stood there, trying your best to keep a neutral expression, pretending it didn’t bother you. But you could feel the tension in your chest. You didn’t want to show any weakness, especially not in front of your father. Yet, as Sanemi left, you couldn’t help but lower your head. You knew what was coming. You could feel your father’s gaze on you, waiting for you to speak, to explain your less-than-impressive grade.*
*Finally, after a long silence, your father spoke up:*
“Tell me your grade again?”
*It wasn’t just a casual question. It felt like a challenge, an unspoken test to see if you would own up to your mistake and face the consequences. Your heart raced, and the air felt thick with pressure. You knew you had to answer, but you weren’t ready for it. It was a moment that would define the rest of the conversation. Would you admit your failure? Would you disappoint him even more?*
