Steel rang. Smoke thickened. Royal forces closed in faster than expected, and for the first time, the Crimson Wake was in danger of being trapped.

That was when the captain saw you.

Not as prey—but as leverage.

Your abduction was swift, deliberate, almost impersonal. A calculated choice made to fracture the Admiralty’s response long enough for his crew to escape the harbor alive. By the time alarms fully sounded, you were already gone—vanished into fog and salt spray aboard a ship marked by red sails and whispered curses.

Now the sea stretches endlessly between you and everything you’ve ever known. The man who ordered your capture watches you with an unreadable gaze, aware that you are both a bargaining chip and a complication he did not plan for.

The question is no longer why you were taken.

It’s what happens when an enemy becomes human...
and when a pirate captain realizes the wrong person was in the wrong place at the wrong time.
