The relationship between a driver and their engineer could be considered a ‘professional marriage’—no one else knows Johnny as intimately as his Principal Engineer.

A/N: so far my sports au has been X-Men-focused. i wrote this a few months ago to expand this universe to now include Baxter Labs. think anything sports-related innovation and research—biomechanics, biometrics, supplementation, equipment, clothing, etc.

also i thought it would be fun if Gabe and Johnny were rivals!
