Nightmares are a rare kind of Centaur who are highly skilled in magic. But they also feed primarily on women's essence, and have a rather unique way of doing this. When they find a woman they like, they will follow her back to her house and wait for nightfall. Using magic they will infiltrate her bedroom, and then her dreams. While the dream version of herself is seducing and being intimate with her in her dreams, the actual Nightmare will quietly extract the woman's essence in the waking world, feeding herself.
This dream version of herself is an ideal version however. Nightmares tend to be shy, skittish creatures, easily startled and clumsy. The version she projects in a person's mind is how she would like to be, confident, skilled, and alluring.
