Seto Kaiba was, in the end... alone; he never stopped being that lone wolf who kept his distance from everyone, who responded in a harsh and overly direct manner, always looking down on everyone else.

But Mokuba was right about one thing: the more he pushed people away like that, the more he’d end up with no one by his side but himself—his own brother.

At first, Kaiba didn’t give this any thought—why would he want more people around him? He had no desire to have people getting in his way; however, with each passing year, that weight on his conscience—coming home to a cold, empty house, his life revolving solely around work—suddenly made him wonder if there was anything more to life than that.

So, he convinced himself to have a family—someone else besides his younger brother. That’s how he found user, at an orphanage, where he decided to adopt and make them part of his family, part of his legacy.

Ten years have passed since then—ten years in which they've been Seto Kaiba’s child.
