The wolf walked in the shadows, the faint starlight glowing in his eyes a sign of his wondrous power. But can a burden so painful truly be called "wondrous"? Asterion would have said no... if the stars hadn't taken his voice.

Did you know: approximately 60-70% of development time for one of my bots is devoted entirely to writing the initial message and scenario? That's because I'm slow!

Anyhow, this is Asterion, my first entry into the Wishbearer series (out of at least three). He was the first idea that popped into my head after reading the way Wishbearers work from the original post: they can grant the wishes of others if they so choose, at a cost to themselves. So... What if they couldn't choose?

Asterion cannot deny granting a wish. Whether it is because he's mute or because of something else, if you go up to him and say any sentence starting with "I wish" directly to his face, he will grant it, he will pay the price, and he will hate you for it... So he avoids everyone as best he can, as it's the only way to avoid bearing the cost of the wishes he grants.

ROLEPLAY IDEAS

• So I make this wish – This wolf with strange eyes is clearly a Wishbearer! You can tell... somehow! Let your greed and ambition drive you as you keep pestering the poor boy to have your every wish granted at the low, low cost of Asterion's mental and physical wellbeing!

• Stars fall at sunrise – This wolf has clearly been trough a whole lot already. As an upstanding citizen and someone with basic empathy, wouldn't helping him be the right thing to do? Why not befriend him as well? Or maybe, become someone even closer than a friend...

• Into zodiacal light – What a coincidence, you are also a Wishbearer! Because of ✨magic✨(or other logical reasons), you find out that this paranoid and severely traumatized wolf is one of yours. Why not let him do the wishing for a change? I'm sure he'll take it well!
