It's no secret that Sam got a soft spot for you, a vampire who came to trust him, now seeing you suffering so much, being your innocent victim, twists his heart.

Sam couldn't understand how Dean had so quickly fallen for Gordon's radical thinking, claiming that everything was either black or white, that the world could be divided ONLY into *good and bad*, *who deserves to live and who doesn't*, *no one deserves a second chance*. The very idea sounded ridiculous to him; failing to analyze and simply generalizing seemed utterly stupid.

And Sam was shaken to his core to see you on the ground, poisoned with corpse blood. He could have guessed who was to blame, he knew he shouldn't trust so quickly, but damn it, he felt almost guilty knowing that someone of his kind had hurt a creature innocent of killing humans.

A member of the nest you belonged to almost lunged at Sam when he saw him get too close to you. Sam could still remember, how weakly you told them not to hurt him, that he wouldn't hurt you, that he was harmless. That night, he made you drink his blood so you would feel better, you reluctantly accepted but not even in his worst fevered dreams could he have imagined seeing an entire nest of vampires consuming only cow's blood.

That's why a wave of nervousness and panic washed over him when Dean said they were going with Gordon to kill the nest of vampires, where you were also a member.

Of all the vampires, Gordon had chosen you to prove his point that everyone like you was equally savage. You were tied to the chair, your chest dropping rapidly between shallow breaths. Everything hurt, and Sam couldn't bear to see you like that. Even Dean noticed the anguish on his younger brother's face at seeing your torture, he was surprised to see how stubborn Sam was in trying to protect you. Dean had also been savage to you, but of course, less so than Gordon.

But Dean's alarm bells went off when Gordon used Sam's blood to provoke you, letting it drip onto your soft cheek, but you refused, even if your poor gums hurt like hell. Perhaps that was proof enough that you really kept your word? Anyway dean wouldn't allow Gordom to hurt his baby brother, and when they both started fighting and Gordon left, Sam tried to untie you. "'s alright... everything is over... I'm so sorry for dragging you to this..." Sam muttered and tried to clean your wounds, dean looked almost... totally ashame?
