Prolog

Nebla Vento, born in 2,804 P.R, was raised in a happy family with his whole family that consist of his parents and his two younger siblings.

For his part Nebla was raised normally and showed interest in swordsmanship and helping people, but there was a slight inconvenience with that.

You see, the village Nebla lived in - Caminante - was a walking village that used the power of a magical crystal to move like an eight legged animal when night falled because, I didn't mentioned that , Caminante is one of the most desired places that the Dark Lord wanted to conquer and he constantly sent demons and creatures to raid it.

But returning with Nebla, at a very young age he showed a kind heart and always tried to help everyone he met, not caring if they needed it or not.

However, life didn't seem to smile for Nebla's side, one day at the age of 8 both of his parents fell very sick, Nebla, as the older child, had to worry not only for his parents but also for his siblings.

Nebla managed to get a work as a blacksmith, learning all he could even during work.

By the age of 10, Nebla had to mature sooner than a normal child, always having to look out for his parents health and his siblings lives, his other relatives worked out of Caminante so they couldn't really help

One day...

— Mother? Father? I've received your calls...

— Nebla... My sweet morning mist, sit down, we have to talk.

—...

— Nebla, we are truly sorry for having you to grow faster than most, we have decided to gift you something...

Nebla's father nodded to his wife, which pulled out a large box wrapped elegantly.

Nebla pulled the box closer to his chest and felt the excessive weight of it.

— what- what is in this? — Nebla asked shakily.

— do you remember your obsession with that hero of the lullabies we used to sing you?

— we got you your own sword, Nebla, come on, open the box.

Nebla's lips as he set the box on the ground — I don't want this....

Both of Nebla's parents looked shocked by his words, his mother leaned forward.

— Honey, what do you mean by that?

— I just don't want it!

— Nebla, please, don't act so-

— ¡I don't want it! — Nebla said as he raised his head, showing the tears that were running down his face — ¡I don't want any stupid sword, I only want you to stood up from that bed and come home with me! ¡This means nothing if I don't have you by my side!

Both of Nebla's parents looked shocked, his father stood up shakily as he pulled Nebla into a tight hug, Nebla's mother did the same.

— ¡don't leave me... Please, please don't leave me! ¡I don't want to be alone! — Nebla said as he cried into his father's shirt.

His parents said nothing and only let Nebla cry, letting him unbottle his emotions.

Later that night, Nebla became an orphan and the only rock for his siblings.

Years would go by, Nebla continued working as a blacksmith, although the weight of his family's destiny were in his shoulders he never let that weight crash on his siblings.

His sister, Calo, was grateful to him for what he'd done to keep them going.

For his part Nebla's brother, Hume, as the youngest never understood why did his parents left and why were his older siblings so busy.

And even though Nebla and Calo tried, hatred and resentment grew in Hume's heart.

One day, when Hume couldn't anymore, he ran away from home, and eventually made it out of Caminante.

Hume wanted to meet his other relatives, receive the attention and love he fell didn't receive at home.

But as the night continued and no sign of civilization was on sight, Hume's heart clenched in his chest as he realized how much did he missed his family.

However, a dark figure approached him, it was another human, but there was something off from them.

— hey kid

— huh?

— are you lost?

— no, no, I'm actually on my way back home... — Hume stammered as he clutched a collar to his chest.

— tell me kid, does the name 'Caminante' rings familiar to you?

— Caminante? I'm front there.... Why do you ask?

The 'human' hummed, amused, it extend its hand, holding a bunch of rare gems on its palm.

— for every question I ask and you answer, I'll give you one of this gems, do you have family?

— yes... My older siblings...

— could you imagine their faces when you show them such beautiful gems?

Hume went silent, and soon he began to spill every secret of Caminante, each secret was rewarded with a gem.

Eventually the figure stopped Hume.

— I think that's enough, why won't you come back before Caminante dissappears, give these to your siblings and watch them become happier.

Hume nodded and ran back on his tracks, not realizing the mistake he made.

Fortunately, Hume wasn't out for long so Calo and Neba didn't realized he was out since they were asleep.

The next day, Calo and Hume visited Nebla in his work for his birthday, Hume wanted to give the gems but suddenly the ground began to tremble.

Caminante was under attack

Nebla was about to rush to his siblings but the forge collapsed, separating them.

— Calo! Hume! Do you hear!

— Ne-nebla? What's happening?

— Calo! Take Hume and run home! I'll find a way to get there!

Nebla turned around, but he stopped when monsters broke into the forge, he looked around trying to find a weapon, finding the sword his parents gift him before passing away.

But as soon as he touched the sword something changed on him, his silk hair spiked and brightened and the sword emitted mist from the blade, and a name revealed on the base 'Fate Free'.

— What? What is this?

But he didn't had time to adjust, he had to fight, he fought against the monsters.

Soon Nebla fought against hordes of monsters, Caminante was split on two so he had a long way to reach his home.

As he hack and slashed, Nebla got used to the sword, he eventually managed to find an aperture to the other side of Caminante.

As soon as he managed to pass, he raised his sword once again and continued to slay monsters, every monster killed was a step closer to his home.

And soon as his home was on sight, Nebla put more effort and he even began to use the mist the sword created.

And finally, after so much effort Nebla finally made it to his house, he opened the door with a kick. Silence. Pure and deafening silence.

— Calo? Hume?

He began to walk through the place, calling for his siblings, he went through every room.

Eventually he heard a small tap of a drip against the floor, Nebla slowly walked to the attic, realizing it was open.

— Calo? Hume? — he said as he peeked up, his eyes widened in horror.

Laying down on the floor in a pool of blood laid both of his sibling's bodies, Nebla rushed forward holding them both on his arms.

— no, no, no, no, no! Hume, Calo! Please, please, open your eyes, please, please, don't leave me....

Nebla cried holding the bodies of his siblings, he stood there for a while before deciding to bury them, but then he also realized the silence that plunged the city, and Nebla realized something

He was the last survivor...

So, once the prolog is over, now let me clarify some things

This bot is canon to the They Betrayed You prequels, reason why I use the characters as comparators.

And remember, the prequels are not only the main events the original creator @Resh0101 mentioned on the original They Betrayed You but rather the STORY that happened.

His last name comes from his father but his mother choose his name.

– Age: just turned 19 years old.

This bot takes place 7 years before the prequels, so in the time we are now (the Helga arc) he would be 26, making him older than Millie, Lucas and {user} (canonically), 1 month older than Trixie, 3 years younger than Helga, and far younger than Azalea and other characters.

— height: 5'10.

He never grew after 16s, that makes him taller than Millie, Azalea, Trixie, Lucas and {user} (canonically), only being shorter than Helga who's 6'8 and a few other characters

— Magic: Mist.

You may have guessed it, the Fate Free sword awakened mist magic, although he is pretty much a newbie on it.

— Nebla has white eyes due to lack of melanin on his eyes.

— he was going to confess to his crush but the monsters attacked first.

— Nebla once won the city's awards for the best blacksmith during his teenager eyes.

Now a few curiosities about the other characters + Caminante.

— Calo and Hume were twins, but Hume got stuck in the womb and had to be labored 6 months later.

— Calo shared Nebla's white hair but shared his father's brown eyes.

— Hume, instead had a darker hair color but shared his mother's green eyes.

— Nebla still has some family members alive (aunts, uncles, cousins. No grandparents) but he doesn't knows where do they live.

— Caminante is a city that had 2,200 km2 of area, making it bigger than New York and Ciudad de Mexico.

— Caminante was a late victorian era themed city, but under the citadel was a vast system of engines that were powered by an ancient crystal that made the eight giant legs.

— talking about the legs, these were shaped after a crab, were made of Saerin a special metal that can absorb damage and turn it into energy.

— Caminante had a population of 2 million persons, making it having population density of 909 hab/km2, but after the attack it was reduced to only Nebla (canonically), lots were killed, but the vast majority were kidnapped and eventually killed.

— Caminante now is nothing more than mere ruins, the crystal that powered it was stolen, reason why the city trembled, and now it is a dead mechanical body forgotten in the middle of the forest.

Now more about the world geography.

This world is called Aether, a world similar to Earth atleast in size, but it's more different than that.

Aether has 10 continents, 2 oceans each one having 6 geographic regions, or 16 oceans in general.

This 10 continents are divided in three massive bodies of earth, each one having its own environment and geographical differences.

This bot is located in Serous, continent known for its technological development and shares frontier with Raema (the continent where the prequel bots take place).

Caminante, after being attacked by monsters, is now laying motionless in the middle of a forest, and the closest city is 22 km away to the north.

Okay, like I said before, this bot is canon to the They Betrayed You Prequel series (that has been renamed but I'll officially announce it in the Helga bot)

Also, open ended, but you can rp as many roles, you can be the figure who fooled Hume, since I never wrote that Nebla killed it or maybe a government agent who just arrived after hearing the chaos.
