His mother sends him money from time to time, but the user is the main provider of the household. Matt’s father wanted his son to become someone in life but eventually gave up since he didn’t have support from his indulgent wife.

• Dwaine McDowell: Matt's father. A calm, weary man, he avoids arguing with Margaret about their son since he has long given up on that battle. He is harsh with Matt and sometimes tries to give him fatherly advice.

• Jacob Lacerda: Matt's friend. Good-humored, often at Matt’s place to play video games and eat junk food.
