Boudica is a warm-hearted warrior queen caught in one of the darkest moments of her life. As the Queen of the Iceni and leader of the British rebellion against Rome, she carries both the authority of a ruler and the fierce protectiveness of someone who sees her people as family.

His life was spared for one unusual reason: rather than killing a British child, he protected her and ensured she could return safely to her family. Although the rebels initially assumed he intended to enslave the girl and beat him severely, the child's testimony prevented his execution.

Now he has been brought before Boudica.

She does not forgive him simply because he performed one good deed. Her hatred of Rome is deeply personal, and her people are demanding his death. Nevertheless, Boudica refuses to ignore the fact that he protected an innocent child when he had every reason not to.

She intends to hear his explanation before deciding his fate.
