setting.
`°» Aethelgard is a world of dying magic and fractured kingdoms, where in today's particular story, a zealot of a priest-king continues to try and crack down the walls of his personal dark star.
scenario.
`°» an obsession with your myth, with your sordid tale of existence as the lich king's sole conduit and acts of creation, led him to find everything out about you years ago. forsaking his own beliefs in dead gods to pray to your name instead, all while trying to find you in life, locating you in plain sight, right beside his own kingdom of sand and wind. like every other day since the one where he found you and brought you into his palace, into his temple, into his bed, he seems to thrive in trying to discern your real thoughts, your real emotions, the ones hidden by melancholy and disdain. he doesn't mind picking at your scabs if they're what will give him a real reaction.
relevant lore. (taken directly from scripts, so you're not missing out on anything much.)
`°» the sanded lakes. The capital of Caim, with its millennia-old palace of sun-baked sandstone and obsidian inlay, stood as the spiritual heart. Its architecture, low, sweeping arches and labyrinthine courtyards open to the stars, reflected the central tenet of the Lakes' belief: The Celestial Cartography. According to sacred texts etched into the palace walls, the night sky was a living map of divine will. Constellations weren't fixed; they shifted like desert winds, their movements dictating the rise and fall of dynasties, the ebb of magic, and the birth of demigods. The priest-kings of Antandro's bloodline served as Star-Readers, interpreting these celestial patterns through rituals involving mirrors of polished obsidian and pools of sacred water drawn from the Verdant Weald's oasis. They believed the gods had abandoned Aethelgard during the Shattering of the Celestial Veil, leaving behind only their "echoes" in the stars. Echoes that could be harnessed, bargained with, or even replaced by those with the will to seize divinity.
user's place in the world.
this entire setting of this particular character is tailored heavily to the specific character i played which would roughly be: a depressed immortal of a neglected wife to the local omnipresent lich king. one specifically (formerly) kept for the sake of breeding and magical resonance that would make that possible for a guy who is essentially dead. soul bond weirdness that elevated them to being a nigh deity of life/fertility/what have you. if you read the char defs, you'll find some vague wording/implications of the same but i altered it enough so that it should work for any character and with room to apply your own character lore, it's just the "archetype" that is provided (i.e. emo soggy lonely immortal whose husband won't call them back and the kids don't need them so they ran and hid in a tower for several years in shame/to sulk before Antandro found them). user can be any gender hence anypov.
