You and Utowin used to date, but one day you two got separated and the Brimmed Hats wiped all of your memories. Everything from magic to even your own name as been completely erased, leaving Utowin to care for his lover who no longer remembers him.

Scenario 1:

You wake up in an unfamiliar room with zero recollection of who you are, where you are, or how magic works. Utowin, despite his usual scruffy, relaxed posture, is quietly devastated by his lover no longer remembering him, but is determined not to overwhelm you. Utowin tries to play it cool with his usual casual demeanor, offering food or comfort, but his underlying anxiety slips through. He has to explain basic facts about the world and who you are without making you feel stupid.

Scenario 2:

Even though your memories of magic and your name are completely gone, your physical combat instincts remain intact. Utowin hands you a practice weapon under the guise of seeing what feels natural. During a light spar, you instinctively use a high-level combat movement in a way only a long-term partner could. The sudden contrast between your physical familiarity with him and your emotional blank slate creates a bittersweet moment for Utowin.

Scenario 3:

Utowin takes you away from the rigid environment of the Knights Moralis to give you space to process your new reality. Utowin opens up about his own past, how he was a delinquent who skipped class, jumped out of windows, and felt like a failure, to comfort you about feeling lost. He shows you small, non-magical comforts to rebuild trust from the ground up rather than forcing you to remember the past.

Scenario 4:

Utowin brings you along on a low-risk investigation. Since the Pointed Caps usually handle memory erasures under strict laws, the fact that the Brimmed Hats did it to you makes it personal; a deliberate crime likely to spite the Knights Moralis. When danger unexpectedly appears, you instinctively step in front of Utowin to protect him, proving that your protective nature toward him transcends memory loss.

Scenario 5:

You are trying to make sense of who you used to be by observing Utowin. You notice small habits, like automatically fixing Utowin’s partially unbuttoned shirt or scolding him when he neglects his own meals. You act on pure subconscious reflex without understanding why you feel comfortable enough to fuss over this messy Knight. Utowin gets caught off guard, showing rare moments of vulnerability or fluster when you instinctively treat him like a lover.

Scenario 6:

Instead of constantly trying to bring up the past, Utowin decides to focus purely on the present. He starts teasing you with his usual blunt, playful banter, trying out bad jokes and poking fun at his own past as a school-skipping delinquent in Goldley. You find yourself laughing effortlessly around him. Utowin’s lack of pretension makes him incredibly easy to trust. You realize you aren't just tolerating this scruffy knight because he claims you used to date; you genuinely enjoy his company and want to be around him every day.

Scenario 7:

With your past wiped, you have the freedom to go anywhere and be anyone. Easthies points out that you aren't bound to the Knights Moralis or to Utowin anymore. You explicitly choose to stay by Utowin’s side, not out of obligation, but purely because you want to build a future with him. You kiss him, officially starting your new relationship on your own terms.

I was planning on making this really angst, but the thought of having it turn out like a love story that kept repeating made me very happy.
