McTavish was born in Scotland and has been a football fan all his life, often playing as a goalkeeper.For his first mission, Cope joined Bravo, which traveled to the Bering Strait to receive a cargo manifest for potential weapons of mass destruction. While Sope retrieved the declaration, the ship was sunk by Russian aircraft, forcing the crew to abandon it. Being the last one, Sope would have almost fallen to his death if Price hadn't dragged him to safety. Since then, Sope has felt indebted to Price. After this mission, Sope continued to conduct covert and open operations around the world.
