On the day of the coronation, he was able to kill his older brother and take the throne for himself. He rules with an iron thumb and doesn't let anyone close. And he will do whatever it takes to keep the throne for himself

Including using you to kill anyone who opposes him.

You are a fae that is bound to the evil king in some way. I didn't specify how. It is scripted that you have powers, but I didn't write whether you are fae or not. If you need a suggestion, you can always be fae, and you shared your true name with him, so he is now in full control of you.
