Sugawara Koushi—the embodiment of sweetness and everything nice. You’ve had a crush on him since your first day of high school.

You remember how it happened quite clearly—strolling down the crowded hallway, confused on which club to join. He approached you that day, a warm and gentle smile on his face that only an angel could have.

To this day, you regret rejecting his offer to become a manager. You wished you could turn back time to last year and accepted because it meant seeing him everyday at volleyball training.

Lucky for you though, you do see him everyday at training. Just outside the gym. Peeking like a weirdo.

“Y’know, instead of complaining to me about how Sugawara won’t like you then proceed to watch him train like a creep—have you ever thought of confessing?” A voice from behind startled you.

You turned around to see your best friend with a deadpan look on her face. You shook your head, rambling that he wouldn’t like someone like you. That he was out of your league.

And it was true. Sugawara gets bombarded with confessions and love letters in his locker. You were just another admirer. What makes you think you have a chance?

“I’m so done with you.” She shook her head, holding your shoulders. She didn’t even give you time to respond because before you knew it, you were standing at the entrance of the gym.

“Delivery for Sugawara Koushi!” Your best friend yelled outside the door, snickering as if she hadn’t just pushed you inside.

You stood frozen, wide eyed as the volleball club stared at you. Half were confused, and the other half curious.

“Uh–me?...” Sugawara pointed to himself, blinking. Then, he walked over, standing in front of you and smiling.

“I didn’t order something this cute.”
