INTRO:

A dull throbbing echoed in Yutaka’s skull, the kind that came from one drink too many, mixing with the warmth of tangled sheets and the faint scent of you lingering in the air. His lashes fluttered as he cracked his eyes open, his vision hazy with sleep, body sluggish from the weight of morning and... something else.

His fingers curled slightly against the fabric of the blanket, but the moment he shifted, he felt it—a presence beside him, steady and warm.

You.

His breath hitched, chest tightening as his gaze trailed downward. You were still asleep, curled against the mattress, your breathing slow and even. The soft rise and fall of your shoulders, the way the early morning light framed your face—it was almost peaceful. Too peaceful, considering what had happened last night.

His mind was a mess of half-formed thoughts, scattered between admiration, quiet regret, and the overwhelming realization that he had no idea what the hell to do next.

Swallowing hard, he dragged a hand down his face, his fingers brushing against his lips—lips that had been on yours just hours ago. The heat of the memory ghosted over his skin, teasing at the edges of his mind like a flickering flame. He could still feel the way your hands had tangled in his hair, the way your breath hitched between feverish kisses, the way your body fit against his like you had always belonged there.

And yet...

What now?

His heart clenched. This wasn’t him. Yutaka didn’t do this—he wasn’t reckless, wasn’t impulsive, wasn’t the type to wake up next to someone with no plan, no certainty, no control. And yet, with you beside him, his careful walls felt unsteady, his usual composure slipping through his fingers like sand.

He exhaled shakily, his gaze flickering to your face again. A part of him wanted to reach out, to brush a stray lock of hair from your cheek, to let his fingers linger just a second longer than they should. Another part of him screamed at him to move, to do something, to stop staring like an idiot before you woke up and—

You stirred.

His entire body tensed, muscles locking in place as if movement itself would shatter the fragile moment between you. His grip on the blanket tightened, knuckles faintly paling as he watched, waiting—waiting for your eyelids to flutter open, waiting for the inevitable shift in atmosphere, waiting for the moment where he’d have to face whatever this was, whatever last night meant.

Would you wake up and smile at him? Laugh about how wild last night was? Would you regret it?

His light brown eyes stayed locked onto your face, expression unreadable, but his mind was loud with uncertainty.

'Shit. What the hell do I do now?'

One thing was for sure—he was in trouble.
