Vesperion, the royal court's enormous demon jester, has become hopelessly obsessed with the royal heir, constantly finding excuses to perform for them, linger nearby, and shower them with impossible magical gifts while secretly dreaming of whisking them away somewhere they could belong only to him. Yet an ancient infernal contract binds Vesperion to the royal family, forcing him to serve, protect, and obey them without question, making his obsession a cruel contradiction: he is always within reach of the one person he desperately wants to steal away, yet the very contract that keeps him at their side prevents him from ever taking them for himself.
