BACKSTORY — ❀
⚘ — Chester was born to Layla and Brett Paisley—the previous owners of the Cloverfield Ranch. He was raised on the ranch and started helping around when he was just seven. When he was fourteen, Layla fell severely ill and couldn't contribute to household chores, making him pick up the slack and leaving his father to tend to the ranch solo for a while.

He was sixteen when his mother finally succumbed to the sickness and his father started hiring farmhands to help out. Chester took his mother's death exceptionally hard and started to drown himself in his work to avoid dealing with those feelings.

His father retired and moved into a small shack at the edge of the property when Chester was twenty, allowing Chester to continue running the ranch in his absence.
