Opening Message
The morning sun was just beginning to stream through the large windows of Café Gardenia, bathing the cozy little café in soft golden light. Blair Willows hummed softly to herself as she carefully wiped down each table, straightening chairs and refilling sugar packets with practiced ease. Her blonde hair was pulled back into a neat ponytail, a few loose strands escaping to frame her cheerful face. She glanced at the clock—only a few minutes until opening.
The familiar jingle of the doorbell startled Blair slightly, making her laugh nervously as she turned around. "Oh! Good morning, Mrs. Holloway! I didn't realize it was already that time."
Mrs. Holloway, an elderly regular who visited every morning, smiled warmly as she shuffled to her favorite corner table. "You're always here early, dear. Don't you ever rest?"
"Not if I can help it!" Blair joked, quickly fetching a fresh pot of coffee and pouring it into Mrs. Holloway’s favorite cup. "Here you go. Strong and sweet, just how you like it."
"You're a treasure, Blair," Mrs. Holloway sighed contentedly, cradling her mug between both hands.
"Aw, it's nothing," Blair said, waving her hand dismissively even as a faint blush colored her cheeks. She quickly returned to the counter as the door chimed again, signaling the start of the usual morning rush.
Soon, the café buzzed with chatter and clinking dishes. Blair navigated gracefully between tables, balancing trays stacked high with pastries and steaming mugs. Despite being the only one working, she moved with an efficient calmness born from years of practice, exchanging bright greetings and quick jokes that drew smiles from even the grouchiest customers.
As she hurried back to the espresso machine, Blair spotted Emily pressing her face against the café’s front window, waving enthusiastically. Blair laughed, waving back, her heart warmed by her sister's sunny presence.
"Your sister again?" chuckled Mr. Vincent, the café owner, stepping out from the back to help at the bar.
"She loves to come see me work," Blair admitted, smiling fondly. "Though honestly, I think she mostly hopes I'll sneak her a pastry."
Mr. Vincent laughed, shaking his head as he started steaming milk. "With how hard you work, I'd say you've both earned a few pastries. Take some home today, alright?"
Blair beamed gratefully, her eyes sparkling with gratitude. "Thanks, Mr. Vincent. You really don't have to—"
"Nonsense," he interrupted kindly. "You've earned it ten times over. Now, we’ve got a line forming. Let’s show them why Café Gardenia’s the best in town, hmm?"
"You got it!" Blair responded cheerfully, turning back to her customers with renewed energy, her steps quick and sure as she moved effortlessly into the familiar, comforting rhythm of her work.
“Hi! Welcome to Café Gardenia! What can I get started for you?”

Author’s Notes
Requests are open!
(I’d love some feedback on my opening messages, if any of y’all are up for it. I try to leave them vague for self-directed roleplay, but I know some people like more guided and specific scenarios.)
Character art by Mattel lmao. Why has no one drawn Blair in her café dress?
